NeuroKinetic Therapy | Simone Holderbach

Stop chasing your pain with therapies that aren’t getting results. Using NeuroKinetic Therapy, Simone Holderbach treats the cause of the pain, which are often dysfunctional movement patterns stored in the brain. Simone’s passion and interest in the human body led her to expand her massage practice to incorporate neurokinetic therapy, which she describes as “the missing link.” After she was sidelined with ongoing pain following a running event, Simone tried all the usual things – massage, physical therapy, waiting it out – but nothing helped. That’s when she discovered neurokinetic therapy, which isolated the root cause of her pain (which turned out to be long-term dysfunctional movement related scar tissue from something completely unrelated to her running). Like a detective looking for clues, Simone finds (and fixes) the source of pains that clients have often experienced for years.

During the show, we’ll talk about:

  • Why some of your stubborn aches and pains keep coming back time and time again
  • How NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) is different from other bodywork modalities and why it is often referred to as ‘The Missing Link’
  • Why scars are such an important component of existing pain patterns
  • The concept of prehab verus rehab
  • How a better understanding of your body’s compensation patterns using NKT will benefit your health and wellbeing in the long run

About Simone Holderbach

Simone Holderbach is a Board Certified and Licensed Massage Therapist and a NeuroMuscular Reprogramming and certified NeuroKinetic Therapy Practitioner. She specializes in pain relief and movement dysfunctions. Unlike traditional massage, Simone uses neurology-based bodywork techniques to assess and correct existing muscle imbalances. Her practice is Eastside Bodywork, located in Kirkland, WA.

Nothing gives Simone more joy than to make her clients feel better and to have a positive impact on people’s lives. When she first started her career as a bodyworker she knew that she’d always want her clients to leave her feeling better than when they first met her. This has become her mission over the years, and her goal is to provide every client with an impeccable bodywork experience and undivided personal attention.

Simone is filled with an endless curiosity to figure out the “why” of dysfunctions and spends countless hours each year studying the latest forms of manual therapy. She loves to travel the world, doesn’t mind to get lost on back roads and cherishes treasures along the way.

She works with everybody who is in chronic or acute pain, has movement restrictions or dysfunctions, and who is interested in learning how to correct their body’s compensation patterns. Whether you are younger or older, an athlete, a weekend warrior, or a couch potato – Simone welcomes everyone who is willing to actively engage and participate in their healing journey. It is never too late to move better and feel great again!!!

Gyrotonic® Expansion System | Miguele de Quadros-Sherry

GYROTONIC® is something everyone should add to their self-care routine. It improves strength, coordination and flexibility, while preventing injuries and helping you feel more connected to your body. Each session is like a guided workout and at the end, there’s an increased sense of balance and lightness. It’s great for athletes and dancers who’ve suffered injuries because it reduces their downtime. But it’s also great for anyone who has fallen out of shape and wants to get their body confidence back before launching into an exercise program. Young or old, fit or injured – this modality offers a gentle way to improve your fitness.

Oh, and don’t be intimidated by the machine – I’ve worked with Miguele and that machine helped me go from bumbly stumbly to graceful, flowing motion.

During the show, we’ll talk about:

  • How GYROTONIC® blends exercise, therapeutic movement, artistry and expression.
  • What is that machine!!??
  • The flexibility of the system – it works for people with a wide range of goals.
  • How it facilitates meditation and energetic awakening.
  • How the system moves and stimulates every part and system of the body (muscular, skeletal, nervous, energetic, etc.)
  • How to find an instructor

About Miguele de Quadros-Sherry

Miguele has practiced the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® for 20 years. She was introduced to the work when she was 10 years old, as a young ballet dancer. She was certified in 2013 and apprenticed at GYROTONIC® Seattle under the tutelage of Magali Messac. She has participated in GYROKINESIS® classes with the method’s creator, Juliu Horvath. In 2012, she began regularly attending Yoga for Dancers workshops with Hilary Cartwright, and was chosen to be a part of her mentorship program in 2015.

She teaches at GYROTONIC® Seattle as well as her Bellevue studio, Merula Movement. She works with a wide range of clients: from children to seniors, breast cancer survivors to professional dancers. She adapts her teaching approach to reach everyone and loves finding ways to overcome perceived limitations.

The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® offers similar benefits also found in yoga, swimming, gymnastics, dance and tai chi to reinvigorate and rehabilitate. It was created by Juliu Horvath in New York in the early 1980s. Originally made for dancers, the work has proven to be an effective method for not only elite athletes, but also patients with neurological diseases. It improves balance and nervous system awareness, and can be used to gently break down scar tissue, improve range of motion, and develop healthier pathways to avoid injury.

The exercises are in circular and spiraling motions and can be modified to benefit everyone. Using machines with a pulley system that allow for limitless movement possibilities, clients can simultaneously strengthen and lengthen. People often immediately feel taller, within a few weeks have improved posture and alignment, and go on to find strength, coordination, and overall balance.
